Amanda Bynes is getting candid about her recent transformation.
Last night, the 37-year-old actor signed on to TikTok to reveal to fans that she’d gotten an eyelid surgery which completely transformed her self-confidence.
“So I saw a couple of stories online that say I have a new look, and I was never open about this before, but I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skinfolds and the corner of my eyes,” the She’s the Man star revealed. “So, I don’t have those skinfolds anymore—it was one of the best things I could have ever done for my self-confidence and it made me feel a lot better in my skin.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, blepharoplasty is a type of surgery that removes excess skin from the eyelids. “Besides aging, severely sagging skin around the eyes can reduce side vision (peripheral vision), especially the upper and outer parts of the visual field,” the site reports. “Blepharoplasty can reduce or get rid of these vision problems. The surgery can also make eyes look younger and more alert.”
Bynes closed her video by asserting that she is totally happy with the results of the procedure. “I feel a lot better now about myself and I’m so glad I had the blepharoplasty surgery,” she said. “It was one of the greatest things I could’ve ever done.”
This was one of a string of videos Bynes posted to TikTok at the beginning of this week; in another, she thanked fans for listening to her new podcast, Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast. “We are filming the next episode in two weeks—I hope you all tune in to that episode as well,” she said in the clip. “Thank you so much for the support. I love you all.”
The podcast is co-hosted by Bynes and her biochemist best friend, and according to the show’s description, it will focus on the two as they discuss “fashion, artists, actors, actresses, music, and everything else!”
